"What's this? A journal? Diary?" He pried, his curiosity getting the best of him. Her face flushes a light shade of pink. "It's nothing!" She pauses, realizing her mistake, a huge mistake. The same one all her characters make in every book she has ever written. "I mean," she continues softer, almost whispering. "It's nothing of importance." A grin grew on his face just watching her. She was far too cute for her own good. "If you say so, I'll take your word for it." He replies, setting the little book back onto the shelf. Feeling a presence moving around behind him, he pivots his head. What he sees absolutely amazes him. Astonishing. There she was in the middle of her living room, hunched down, with a cat crawling down her back. Her gentle smile aimed up at him as she tries to remove the cat's claws from the fabric of her shirt. His heart melts. One smile and he is completely and utterly done for.
That was it. Kaplooey.
