Moving to a new city is hard, but moving to a new city with a fussy 8 year old is even harder. Daniela Cameron is offered her dream job in a new city with bigger and better opportunities. However moving means adjusting to a lot of changes, especially if those changes apply to your daughter. Being a young mum is not easy, especially if you're raising a kid on your own. There's no parents to lean on and new kid problems to deal with. Then one day at Mila's new school, she meets a group of single parents and a Nanny who are willing to help her adjust to the single city mum life. I wanted to write a short story...so here it is.

When Leah accepts a job as an au pair in a quiet Nordic town, all she's expecting is routines, school runs, bedtime stories and maybe a little space to figure out her own life. But the moment she steps into Elise's home, everything shifts. There's something about the way Elise moves through the world, kind, unshakable and warm in a way Leah hasn't felt in a long time.
