Amihan Del la Cruz has been a vampire ever since her brother bit and nearly drank her dry the night of her eighteenth birthday.

That was over eighty years ago and Amihan has been searching for her brother ever since though she hasn't figured out why yet. Maybe it's because she knows he's her last living relative. Maybe she wants to kick him in the teeth for what he did to her. But either way, Amihan has found no trace of him anywhere and the black and white photo she has been carrying around of him is quickly fading away.

After what was supposed to be a short stop in Forks, Washington, a seemingly non-descript town, Amihan meant to keep moving east, towards New York but a brief run in with a tall, dark and handsome boy makes Amihan pause. Why has she dedicated the last 80 years of her life chasing someone who obviously doesn't want to be found? If he's still alive that is. And why does being around Jacob make her cold, dead heart skip a beat when it rightfully shouldn't?

Then comes a secondary problem in the form of a pale, beautiful boy who has striking golden eyes that look very similar to her own. Torn between two worlds and the allure of a life where she no longer has to chase the darkness, Amihan begins to wonder if she should risk everything and stay in Washington or cut her loses and keep moving forward.
