There was a major war that happened and now the government is trying a new experiment on the city. The main character, Alex, and her best friends who are twins are seeing that something isn't right. They're seniors in high school but because of the war, they've been separated on government orders. No one is allowed outside because the government is making people to believe its toxic. They believe that if the parents believe it, the kids will too. But it doesn't stop Alex. She and her best friends decide that they are going to try and stop this. But how? They have no clue. But the first step, going outside. Is it truely toxic out there ? They're about to find out.

Have you ever dreamt of a world with no adults? admit it, you thought it would be great right? no-one to tell you what to do or tell you off, but for a young girl of the age of sixteen, this is her life. She must survive to look after her siblings and herself. The world has turned into a crazy place with tribes ruleing and with street fights and the cities damaged. Its a place where kids rule, only its how they chose to survive that can get them through in the end. P.S. the book does get better when it goes further in so if you do read it keep reading for some more action. Its also slightly a romance book as well as a science fiction, Adventure and teen fiction. 2063. The world is severely divided. 20 years ago, the government had plans of creating a utopia. A perfect society. Where the residents would all live their lives in peace. They wouldn't have to work jobs. They wouldn't have currency. They wouldn't have to deal with challenges. They could live their lives the way everyone wants to. But there was one catch. And that was that the government made it a law that nothing bad could ever happen. No crimes, no arguments, no fights. The citizens would all be kept calm and they would be kind to each other. Obviously, this failed. Crime broke out. Everyone was fighting each other and the society the government promised turned into a disaster. So, the government decided to do something about it. They decided that everyone who rebelled against them or did anything bad would be put into a perfect android body which was devoid of doing anything wrong. But, they would also be drained of their freedom and emotion. They would be slaves to the government. The majority submitted to the government's orders. But some didn't. This is the story of the ones who rebelled.

This story is about a 16 year old girl named Melody Swift. Ever since her mother died, her so-called "father" started abusing her. Kids at school are cruel, they bully her brutally just because she's different. She simply waits for everything to get better, after all what's the point in trying when the world will do whatever they can to drag you down. Her only escape from this twisted reality is a creature named Shadow. A terrifying creature that is somehow more humane than the so-called humans around her. Shadow could easily take all her problems away, but Melody refuses to take the easy way out. That is, until she just couldn't take it anymore, she takes Shadow's offer and soon her life got better. Her bullies started disappearing, showing up dead in the woods. Their bodies badly mutilated, almost unrecognizable. Life at school started getting better, she finally had human friends and even a boyfriend. Her "father" was found dead at her house. The torture had finally ended. Unfortunately this story doesn't have a happy ending, after all karma always strikes back.

It is the year 2023, a new technology has been developed where citizens can make their eye color change according to their mood, and everyone is desperate for a change, five years earlier, a chemical storm destroyed everything in its path leaving a once beautiful city in ruins, and draining everyone of their eye color, leaving eyes a dull, lifeless grey with no shine or sparkle. But the price they pay will be high, are the willing to risk losing their minds, and themseleves, just for beauty?
