The world as we knew it was falling into ruin. Governments in shambles, whole countries destroyed, and the extreme radiation a double edged sword. When only an estimated 47% of the population survived bombings, about half of them died from radiation poisoning or mutated into inane monsters who devoured anything moving. A handful of people who experienced mutations, however, lived on as functioning humans with uncanny abilities. They became the world's biggest chance at surviving in the harsh wastelands; they were humanity's "hope".

The Wildfire Virus. That's the illness the eggheads have called dubbed that has spread alarmingly fast all over the world. No could figure out at first how and where it came from or how even spread so quickly. I was on leave, visiting brother in Boston when the infection hit. Yesterday, the world was normal with its own conflicts. The next, millions get sick, hospitals are overwhelmed, and any sort of space was converted into a makeshift hospital to handle all the sick. On day 2 the sick died and awoke attacking the living. I tried to get out of the city, but the military closed off every major access point and now I'm trapped within, along with millions of undead. I must get out of the city with any means necessary. Winner of 28 awards including: Unknown Story, Best Cover, Random, Voted King of Action, and Voters Choice
