Rey Jakku is an aspiring Phd candidate in the midst of completing her masters degree in ancient religions. It has been weeks since she submitted her application to be considered for a highly competitive teaching assistants position under Dr. Ren. Notorious for his arrogance and unpredictability, Ren is the worlds most celebrated and respected scholar in his field.
Living the college life, Rey shares a house with her roommates and best friends: Rose, Finn, and Poe. Having shared their undergraduate years and struggles, the group has never been so close.
Acceptance as his pupil is the breakthrough Rey needs to make her mark in the academic world, but the influence of Dr Ren could push the limits of her most cherished friendships. Rey, forever searching for the true meaning of her life, finds herself drawn to the elusive professor despite the repeated warnings of her friends, and embarks on a tumultuous journey to discover her truth and become the woman she desperately wants to be.
