Throughout the generations that came after last, they grew petty and competitive, sabotaging other clan businesses so that the influence drops and their own power rises in the shadow. This was very common for a long time but eventually those sabotages would cost some clans their life. The families were tight and ever growing, a vengeance born from blood shed could never be forgiven. Those clans passed this down every generation, each time more and more lives would be lost until their is a clan that can stand at the top and suppress the others. This seemed to be the only solution and ironically, were the reasons the fights ever started. 

Now 'fate' or whatever you choose to call it--maybe you'll call it luck?--Brought Nova and William together. Their adventure is one for the books--quite literally.
