"Don't forget me, Lisbeth." Darlene stared down at her tiny brown hair friend and spoke solemnly.
"I swear, I won't forget you Lene," Lisbeth said, hugging the taller girl tightly, "I'll call you every day, eight times a day if I can." Darlene smiled softly, yet sadly as she tucked a lock of her dark hair that had come out of her messy braids that Lisbeth had done for her.
"Call and tell me your number as soon as you get there, okay?" she said, trying to keep the tears from welling in her eyes. Lisbeth hugged her again, burying her face in her shoulder.
"The second I get my hands on that phone I'll call you." she whispered. Darlene just silently wrapped her arms around the smaller girl, letting a tear slip.
"Haisey Olive Lisbeth Sky?" An unfamiliar voice called. Lisbeth looked up, giving Darlene a glimpse of her now tear stained face.
