Castiel looked over at the man beside him, he looked strangely familiar. Castiel just looked at him, taking in all of his features, his strong jaw, muscular arms hidden under a plaid shirt, soft looking dirty-blonde hair, his freckles on his nose and under his eyes; then it hit him, He was the guy from the party. He sure was beautiful… for a guy, Castiel reminded himself.
“Hey, weren’t you at the party?” The man inquired.
“uhh yeah”
“Oh man you were the guy I knocked over… Sorry about that”
“Oh no, it was my fault, it’s completely fine”
“I’m Dean Winchester by the way” He held out his hand for Castiel to shake.
“Castiel Novak” He took Dean’s hand and shook it firmly.
Ellen passed Dean his beer and refilled Castiel’s whisky.
“Round of pool?” Dean asked
“Eh, Why the hell not."

The choice had been easy. It hadn't even been a choice, really. He had everything planned out in his head, the materials he'd need, the words he had to learn, the silent goodbyes he had to say. Everything had gone according to plan, the candles placed in a circle throwing their flickering light on the walls of his room at the bunker, illuminating the marks that had appeared on his body as he recited the words, marking him as a soul worthy and willing to sacrifice its light for the life of many. I love the idea of Destiel, that a human and an angel can move beyond the physical boundaries of the human body, and find something deeper in each other, during a time when they are both ships tossing in a chaotic sea of emotions, and at a time when their lives are absolutely falling apart. They cling to one another, each becoming the other's safe harbor. It's transcends sex, moves beyond the fact that they are both in male form. It is love in its purest form, and it is on a deep and spiritual level. The idea that someone as broken as Dean Winchester can find someone that can see past the darkest parts of himself to the light within and still love him I think is the most beautiful thing on earth. This story is about Cas losing his memory after getting almost killed and Dean being accused of it. Dean walked into the scene. He went to Cas.
