After Varian stole the sundrop flower he returned to his lab. He attempts to to break the amber his father is trapped in. It failed, out of rage Varian slams his fist on his table. In doing so a certain potion falls and breaks of its container. Varian is startled he hadn't figured out what it was exactly. the potion affected Varian causing a feeling of love for someone he had come to despised.
