I've been able to spend some time with my plants during the day because of this lockdown situation.
Today, I was checking my seedling tray for lettuce germination but I found a Subulina Octona (Tiny snails) in one of the trays. I was excited seeing its slow movement. I also shot a video and thinking she'll stay with us for sometime, me and my SiL named her Liny. Name creates a special bond, although Liny might not get it, we could feel it. We offered her some tomato leaves and lettuce during the day and she loved lettuce.
In the evening, while sitting in my balcony, I saw another Octona (named Subbu) in one of the other pots. The first thing that came to my mind was Liny and then I felt as if she might be lonely. I should help her and move Subbu with Liny and they'll have fun together.
This is what we humans have been doing, not just to animals but to weaker humans as well. Parents do it to their children, teachers to students, government to citizens, companies to employees, bosses to subordinates, and the list goes on.
The worst part is we have good intentions at the back of the mind while doing it without knowing what good actually means for that particular individual. If we really wish good, the best would be to leave it as it is. May be they might not go as far as you want them to go without your help, but they'll go in the direction they wish to. And that is what happiness really means. They might fails, not go ahead in their career, but, this will give them experience which will help in a long run called Life.
By this I don't mean we should not share our experience/knowledge. It is just that it should not be forced on to someone (even for their betterment)

PS: I've put some lettuce in another pot as well, and Subbu is free to have it, only if he likes.
