Far into the future, another war may rise...

Five centuries ago, the Light fairies and Dark fairies made peace with one another, and after that, times have been joyous.  With Ash and Serena's children, August and Verity, becoming wonderful potential Leaders for the Colony, the future has never seemed brighter.

One night, everything changes.

August brings a human girl back to the Colony after saving her life, a girl that he somehow has a history with.  She must stay with the fairies for her own safety, and that is when weird events begin happening.  Both Ministers have begun to act weirdly, and when it's discovered that this girl, Valerie, is no ordinary fairy, tensions begin building.

The time comes when Valerie makes a fatal mistake in her magic training, and the humans turn violent.  Tensions arise and the fairies are scared that the current champion, Red, might want to go to war.

August, Verity, and Valerie have the chance to turn everything around, if they could only do the right thing.

Is it finally the time for the Colony to collapse, or will peace prevail once more?

Book Two of the Fairy Duology.  If you haven't already, go read book one, The Fairy's Cure!  This book WILL NOT make sense without it.  I also recommend reading the Extras in that book.

She found herself facing new rivals, growing stronger with each challenge, and watching her newly found friend become clouded by determination and rage. This story also has a very slow plot, their relationship progresses VERY slowly throughout, so if you aren't into slow burns I don't recommend this story.
