Since the loss of her parents four months ago, Bailey Rhodes has been left broken and completely alone. Despite the vastness of New York city, Bailey can't escape the sadness that follows her as every inch of NYC is marked with memories of her parents. In attempts to move on and start a new, Bailey packs up her life in New York and heads to the small town of Spencer, Indiana. In this new life, she becomes a waitress at the local bar, where she catches the eye of bouncer, Dawson. Initially weary of befriending a seemingly perplexing character, Bailey stays clear. But some romances are inevitably going to happen and first impressions are often miscalculated. Will the pair form a romance? Or will Bailey's past slowly get in the way? Because the past doesn't always remain at bay.

Nicole often submerges herself in her studies, enjoying the steady calculations of her homework rather than dealing with the confusing emotional turmoil most high school girls have to deal with. She has a routine. Lose herself in homework. Lose herself in dance. Lose herself in sleep. Great, right? Then one day, her calculus teacher decides to jostle her routine by requesting her to tutor Dustin, the basketball player who can't quite understand those cold calculations. Total cliché, right? But as time goes on, Dustin starts realizing high school isn't all about fitting in, and Nicole starts to realize that strong emotions are all part of the thrill of being a teen.
