It had only been three years since the end of the war, Hermione thought. It wasn't nearly enough time to forget what had happened, or even to have a normal conversation. Too much had happened. But as she stared at the hesitant expression of Draco Malfoy in front of her, she realized she had to be the one to make the first move.
"Draco, can I help you?"
"I'm glad you asked, Granger."
She smiled, hugging her papers to her chest,"Come in. I think we have a lot to talk about."

Three years after the war, Hermione finds a stable life at the Ministry, working under the Office for the Detection and Confiscation of Counterfeit Defensive Spells and Protective Objects. It gave her a fulfilling sense of duty, and was a much less stressful counter to her search for Horcruxes. However, as a case begins to become much harder than anticipated, she is met with the now infamous Spagyric Alchemist: Draco Malfoy. While she had no idea how he had suddenly become interested in plant alchemy, he would prove to be invaluable to the case. In turn, she would be able to get the answers to questions she has left unanswered for quite some time.
For Draco, this assignment was just pure dumb luck.
