Gale has volunteered for Peeta Mellark to compete in the 74th annual Hunger Games with Katniss Everdeen after she volunteered for her sister. Katniss is anything except happy about it due to the concern she has for her family left alone at home. Will she be able to abide this and work with him in the games, or will she leave him and fight alone? Does Gale feel something more than best friends for Katniss? Does she feel something more for him? To Katniss, it doesn't matter anymore under their circumstances, but Gale might think a little bit differently . . .

Follow as the story takes you into how everything they had became just a memory and their attempt to rebuild the relationship [.......] always wanted. Authors Note: I tried to make this story as book accurate as possible, but of course with their being a new leading character added, the story will not follow it directly. I did this on purpose. There are also head canons in this because of another character. Most important, this is a lesbian based fan fiction. I am not claiming Katniss's sexuality whatsoever, in fact, in the story, it is obvious that the insert character's love is completely one sided. We know her story. But have you ever wondered what it was like on the home front, in District 12? This story is Gale's, his outlook on the games, his feelings about his best friend's situation, and his interactions with the people of District 12. The story is set during the time period of "The Hunger Games" (book one of the trilogy). It is written from the perspective of Gale Hawthorne, and does not concern any events in books two and three. This is my first fan fiction, my first "real" attempt at long form prose writing, and my first Wattpad story. I appreciate constructive feedback, but please, no hate. While the characters and some plot points are based off of Suzanne Collins's Hunger Games Trilogy, (which I in no way own the rights to) I have created this story using my own imagination. Please do not attempt to recreate it in any form. Additionally, if ideas in this work are similar to that of other writings, it is purely coincidental and I apologize deeply for any inconvenience.
