The gentle wind brushed past the soft petals of the roses. The silent morning air was disrupted by a scream. She ran through the thistles and brushes as they chased after her with a burning malice. She was being accused of practicing forbidden magic within the walls of her home. her dress was torn by one of the thistles and she ran further, pushing herself as far as she could. the hounds kept a steady pace after the girl. She knew it was the end for her, so she gently placed the baby onto the bough of a branch. The child reached out her hands for her mother but her mother left, leading the hounds away from the baby.

From that small babe feature, the baby grew into a young woman. A young woman with magic.

Lenora's Grimoire

19 parts Complete

(Former title: Book of Rosethorns) Cherish thought she'd escaped her past years ago--settled down in some forgotten, sleepy town, gotten a steady job at the local library, and subtly hidden the witchcraft books donated from the local covens from the public. Cherish Harmond was wrong. Her cedar tree had screamed at her before dying on her front lawn that morning. Cherish hadn't even realized trees could scream. Faced with the desperate plea for help from a stranger, the past she thought she had successfully outrun has returned, and she must come to terms with it, to use her powers for good--because if she doesn't, she might unleash a curse onto her sleepy, normal hometown forever. **Submission for ONC 2021
