Tom suffers from Hanahaki Disease.
Hanahaki- A disease where the victim coughs up flower petals when they love someone who doesn't love them back, or when they think they don't love them. It can be cured once the victim get loved by the one they love or surgically removed, but once surgically removed, the feelings disappear and will never appear again.
The story is in Tom's POV unless told otherwise
