•••••••••••••••• He took a step closer to her, and she took one away from him. "When two people make love, it is sensual, two hearts bonding, and caring for one another. It's slow and gentle and undemanding. It's just you and the person you love, and nothing else in the world matters." She didn't know when he'd gotten so close to her, but her eyes burned as she read the slight expression that flashed across his own eyes... sorrow, as if perhaps remembering something, or someone from his past. She didn't know why it made her chest hurt, he was only a brute after all... •••••••••••••••• Set against the enchanting backdrop of mid-18th century England, "The Cadre of Embers" unfolds the extraordinary journey of Althea Lezant, a young and unmarried woman disillusioned by societal constraints on women. The Rescue of Summerfall by Troublesome_Wench
58 parts Complete Mature
Sylfir is a lone druid; a young bounty hunter hailing from the High Forest who has made a life for herself answering calls for aid from the helpless. When the village of Summerfall issues its plea, she thinks it is no different than any other bounty she has taken, but when she arrives, she gets far more than she bargained for. In the wake of its near-destruction at the hands of an unknown beast, the village has become a confluence of powerful players: a cleric of the gentle but resolute Eilistraee who is unwavering in her conviction, a trio of Uthgardt warriors with unmatched mettle, and a mysterious red-eyed witch who would invite doom on them all. Sylfir finds that she must rally these souls to her side for good to triumph over evil. But amid the sea of chaos, she chances to find islands of calm as she comes to feel for the village people. Of all of them, however, it is the son of a farmer that she's drawn to. She proves all too susceptible to his easy charm, but with all that is at stake, will she let herself fall for him? Blood Heat by Alreigch
1 part Complete Mature
"Owlbears are some of the most ferocious creatures ever seen in the Forgotten Realms. Anything or anyone unlucky to come across them is liable to be torn apart by these territorial, oversized and aggressively temperamental monstrosities. Avoid at all costs. An area frequented by Owlbear activity should be evacuated of all civilians until hunters can be summoned who are strong, brave, and foolish enough to attempt to take on such a beast. Equal efforts should also be attempted to placate or discover the reasoning behind any rampages; most often they are due to infringement on the Owlbear's claimed territory. Further information or study done of this species, or their lesser known and much larger offshoot, known as Royal Owlbears, is limited due to the high mortality rate of researchers, scholars and wilderness enthusiasts, caused by these creatures in their natural habitat. Under no circumstances should any underqualified person approach or intentionally draw near an Owlbear, lest they rouse their wrath. Their species possesses long memories and have been known to carry grudges, often enacting them with brutal consequences and massive collateral damage. They are most dangerous during the time of Blood Heat, when these already violent and bloodthirsty animals reach new heights of savagery. Caution is strongly advised." ~Page 406 of the Bestiary Compendium, by Monster Manuelle. *Owlbears are the property of Wizards of the Coast, Dungeons and Dragons, and all artwork belongs to their creators.
