When Mcgonnagal asked Harry Potter and his year  to come back to Hogwarts to complete their education and take their N.E.W.Ts,  to say Harry was excited would have been an understatement. With Voldemort dead he could finally enjoy a normal school year with his friends, not worried about somebody trying to kill him but the fact that it was Harry Potter we are talking about and trouble usually found him.....
Draco Malfoy, on the other hand was going to go back to Hogwarts to escape, from his empty life at the manor even though Hogwarts held bad memories any place was better than the manor.

I DO NOT OWN ANY OF THE ORIGINAL HARRY POTTER CHARACTERS. THEY BELONG TO J.K. ROWLING.

Draco Malfoy always knew that he would grow to become a death eater for Voldemort, even though he never wanted to. He is given a mission, and that mission is to kill Dumbledore and fix the vanishing closet. He doesn't want to do this, he doesn't want to kill anyone. he just doesn't have a choice. What makes this whole situation worse is Harry Potter. Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy have to live with each other as a punishment, making it harder for Draco to carry out his mission. Draco can't risk Harry finding out what he has to do, If Harry finds out, Draco's family and himself will have to pay the price.
