"I always knew who I was, or rather I always thought I knew who I was. And that was my problem I guess. Sometimes there is an event, an incredibly horrible or incredibly beautiful thing, and it defines who you become. Who you perceive yourself to be. This is what I mean when I say I always knew who I was. Even before I had memory of my own there was an event that would determine who I saw when I looked in the mirror from that day forward. I was to be strong, but likely not strong enough. I was to love, and likely die from the loss of it. These are the things I thought I knew and the things life sought to unteach me." You would think that having a mate given to you by the Goddess who was your perfect match would make the whole love thing easier, but not for Percy Alexander. Having lived among mortal humans for most of his life, he never had the opportunity to spend time with other wolves, and certainly not his mate. However, when his mate finally enters his life, he isn't sure that he's strong enough for that kind of all consuming love.

I was made to serve him. I was made to heed his every beck and call. I was dutiful, obedient, proud of my servitude regardless of what the others thought of me. He was powerful, and he made me powerful, too. It was honorable to be his right hand, to be able to execute his orders to perfection. I thought I had done well in this position. Had anyone asked I would have sworn I exceeded all expectations and fulfilled every request without hesitation or error. I had become an expert in anticipation, of knowing my Master better than I knew myself. So why did he give me away? How could he cast me aside so easily? Was I really so replaceable, so meaningless? He had made me for himself, hadn't he? What other purpose could I possibly have? How was I meant to serve him by serving someone else? -This story has mature themes and depictions of violence, depression, panic attacks, gore, etc. Please read at your own discretion- Highest rankings thanks to all of you wonderful readers! : #2 in "Servitude" #3 in "Servant" #22 in "ManxMan"
