Upon arriving the settlers become aware of the Native American tribe, Selepet. Mayor Dan McKreary decides to let them be for now. Costas Nilsson a spoiled boy of 18 finds himself missing his home town of New Jersey, in a strange new place among people he considers his inferiors. On an escapade into the forest he meets Arrcos a native American man with a serious face and kind eyes.
