I wanted to scream. I even cried out for help, but no one's there, except darkness. Nobody held my hand when I reach them. Sinubukan kong sabihin sa kaibigan ang sitwasyon ko. Pero tinawanan lang nila ako, ang sabi nila, it's all in my mind. Damn! The emptiness inside is killing me. Kapag nakaharap ako sa ibang tao, palaging pekeng ngiti ang binibigay ko sa kanila. Nagkukunwari na okay lang ako, na maayos ang lagay ko. Pero sa gabi ay hindi ako pinapatulog ng kalungkutan na halos mag-iisang taon ng unti-unting pumapatay sa akin. I'm trying to be a better person that my Dad wanted me to be, pero hindi ko kaya. Sa bandang huli, I am a failure. Because I can never meet his expectation. When his Assistant who was that time my private tutor, sexually molested me, wala pa rin akong nagawa, ni hindi ko magawang magsumbong dahil natatakot akong saktan niya si Daddy. So, I kept that nightmare in me. When my best friend died, everyone blamed me. Maybe, yes, it was my fault. At sa loob ng ilang taon, parang bangungot na paulit-ulit nagre-replay sa aking isipan ang paninisi ng mga tao. Hanggang sa dumating ang araw na wala na akong makitang dahilan para huminga. And then, I begged. "Please, let me escape this pain. I can't take it anymore." Nakasilip ako ng pag-asa ng dumating ka sa buhay ko. Nangako ka na sasamahan ako sa lahat ng laban ko. Prologue AERY's POV "May ginawa ka na naman daw gulo sa school niyo." bungad ni Dad sa akin pagdating ng bahay. "It's not my fault. It's just that, malakas ang kapit ng nakaaway ko sa principal ng school namin. "Lagi ka na lamang gumagawa ng gulo. Ayaw mong gayahin ang kakambal mo, masipag mag-aral at mabait sa eskwelahan." ouch! yan na naman ang ayaw ko, comparing to Ate Ambry. "I'm not her, okay. Parehas kami ng mukha pero magkaiba kami ng ugali. Lagi na lang kayong ganyan. Si Ate Ambry naman kasi ang lagig magaling sa inyo kasi hindi niyo ako mahal!" sagot ko na medyo napataas na ang boses. *pak!* Nagulat si Dad sa nagawa niya. "I-I'm sorry, Aery. Hindi ko sinasadya." paghingi ng tawad ni Dad. "It's okay, Dad. Wala pa ito sa sakit na araw-araw kong natatanggap sa tuwing ikukumpara niyo ako ay ate." at tumalikod na. "Ita-transfer ko na ng school ang Ate Ambry mo. Alam kong siya ang dahilan ng gulo na madalas mo kasangkutan." dagdag pa ni Dad. "okay." at dumiretso ng kwarto.
