Jamie Abrahms was a nineteen-year-old college student. Her father walked out on her family when she was young, and her mother has always struggled to keep food on the table. When Jamie's mother took a job that places them in the middle of the gang-ridden part of Boston, things looked worst than they ever have before. Jamie has previously had multiple offers to play D1 basketball all over the country. However, she had turned down all the opportunities to care for her older brother with severe autism.
