The three stratums consist of the Trigga-Hex, the borderlands, and the wastelands. The Trigga-Hex is the most advanced out of the three stratums. Ali and Jayden live in the Trigga-Hex. There parents where both taken by the first wave of the Pathosis, a growing sickness. Jayden is unfortunately affected with the sickness, and goes searching for a cure in the borderlands.

The borderlands are a land dividing the Trigga-Hex and the waste lands. The people of the borderlands know the secrets of the past. They’re forced to keep it a secret. Wren and her brother Kieran are some of those people. Wren is a doctor in training, and Kieran works as an officer. Wren as a great ability to cure the sick, and Kieran’s will to help people, comes before the law.

The waste lands are a dreadful place. They have very little of everything. The sick die quickly, the hungry starve. Many are sent to the island, a place where you can be eaten alive, starve, and die the most horrible ways. One you go through the portal there is no going back. Allison and Thomas’s parents are sent to the island, for stealing fruit. At the last possible minute there parents some how get the officers to discharge Allison, and Thomas. They are sent to the Border lands with minor wounds. They hide for weeks and grow week from lack of food, but a brave comes out from the dark and takes them in.

Will these 6 really find the truth; will they try and make a difference? Will they fail, or live to be the heroes?
