Emory has lived in a gloomy mansion underneath the tropical Island of the Fay for nearly two hundred years, perfectly content and perfectly alone. The Raven Queen, the goddess who blesses him and his kind with immortal life in exchange for their service, occasionally sends him on daring missions of thievery that require far more risk and excitement than Emory has ever wanted; still, for the most part his island is a peaceful place, where nothing ever happens. Until the day a massive mud-pit opens, and from it emerges a woman the likes of which Emory has never seen.

Midge cannot remember a time before she worked as a dishwasher, errand-girl and all around greyfolk grunt for Titania, the Queen of the Faewild. As part of her duties, she is assigned to serve a visiting dignitary; a mysterious and powerful figure who calls himself Chevalier. Though Midge trusts no fae, Chevalier manages to trick her into a portal that sends her hurtling through planes of existence, until she lands hard upon Emory's island.

Midge doesn't like Emory, and Emory doesn't like anyone at all; despite their differences, they are forced to work together to discover Chevalier's ultimate intentions, and thwart his designs upon their destiny.

The wizards believe that the Wizard's Misery is no more and Aryganazhan has married Maledictor and now the wizards are at war. Strange doorways have begun opening through out the Midlands and bizarre creatures are emerging forever changing the kingdom. Can Celine close the doorways and stop the creatures from entering? Can she neutralize the wizards before any more damage is done? Travel through out the kingdom with Celine and her allies as they try to stop the war while a new enemy arises, threatening to enslave all of humanity that dwells within the Midlands. Sneak peak: Suddenly a very small, strange creature that looked like a miniature woman with wings darted in front of Celine's face, then flew over to Brandon and followed along beside him for a moment before speeding back into the Royal Pine Forest as he reined in his horse. "What in the Midlands was that?" Brandon asked in shock. "I don't know," Celine answered concerned. "Something very strange is going on. I feel like I need to go into the woods! There's something I need to do in the woods!" she said as she rode over to the side of the road and dismounted, running into the Royal Pine Forest as Brandon called after her to wait. He quickly dismounted and swiftly lead his horse over to Celine's, taking its reins and tying both horses to a tree before going after her. "Celine! Wait!" he called after her as he realized that he could hear a very low humming noise coming from within the woods. "Maybe she's following the noise," he thought as he began to follow it to find where it was coming from and hopefully locate Celine. He pushed through the underbrush as the sound became louder and then he saw Celine standing in front of a whirling, shimmering vortex which was floating about four feet above the forest floor. There was a myriad of different types of strange looking creatures coming out of it and Brandon stood there in disbelief at what he was seeing.

When she learns of it, she ventures into the wood to kill the beast, believing that she will be able to absorb the magic it has stolen. But the woods are as dangerous as the beast, and Vera soon finds herself lost. In a stroke of luck, she comes across an old manor deep in the forest where a strange boy is sealed away. Nocturna Academy is the most prestigious university for supernaturals - a place where every race, from vampires and werewolves to fae, witches, warlocks, empaths, and hybrids, comes to prepare for the roles they will one day claim in their own communities. Royals, diplomats, and leaders of every kind have walked its enchanted halls. One student, however, has lingered longer than most. Seraphine Ashbourne, the youngest daughter of a royal vampire dynasty, has spent a decade within Nocturna's walls. Officially, she is here to learn. In truth, the academy is her family's cage - a place to keep her hidden, out of sight and out of mind. Something stirs within her, something her family fears, and until they can control it, she is not allowed to claim her place at court. Seraphine herself does not know the true reason she is kept here. What she does know is that her family demands perfection: strict discipline, flawless poise, and an obedience that clashes with her untamable spirit. Now, in her tenth year, Seraphine begins yet another cycle of studies. She repeated her first year once, then completed the curriculum in full - twice - only to be denied her title again and again. Frustrated, grieving, and restless, she enters this new year with little hope. But the academy is changing. New professors watch her closely, some determined to protect her, others to test her. Two of them, however, see her differently - not just as a student or an heir, but as someone they cannot help but be drawn to. Their attention is dangerous, forbidden, and intoxicating. And Seraphine, for the first time in her long years at Nocturna, finds herself unwilling to resist. She will not choose between them. She will not deny herself the connection they offer. Whispers gather in the halls, rumors cling to her name, and the weight of her legacy presses heavier than ever. Seraphine Ashbourne is more than her family's secret. Whether they allow it or not, the Scattered Heir is about to awaken.
