"Everyone is beautiful in their own way."

How many times have you heard that or something similar to it? I've heard it at least a hundred times in my life.
Mostly because it's directed to me. "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder." "It's not being different, it's being unique."

There are all just ways of consoling me because I'm not pretty. Which I never really minded. I had no problem being ugly or different.

Until high-school.

* * *

Skylar is a normal teenage girl, in her own way. She used to go to an all-girl's private school before her parents forced her to go to a public school in the middle of California. She's a complete nobody who is also different. One thing that she quickly learned at her new school is, "Everybody wants to be unique, but nobody wants to be different."
