Kaden Heart, seventeen years old, spends a lot of time online. Timid and shy ever since his mother died, he tends to keep to himself nowadays. He feels as though the internet is the only place where he can really be himself, post his brilliant literary works of art, and find people that share his common interests. He meets a fiery, passionate girl on an online chatting website, and he becomes obsessed with the idea that someone, across the country, is fascinated by him and his meaningless theories.

Parker James, sixteen years old, is not your average girl. Spontaneous and impulsive are just two words to describe her. Taking life by the highway, speeding is what she does best. After her ex-boyfriend, Seth broke up with her, she needed ways to be distracted, or she’d do something she’d regret, like set his car on fire. Spending time online seemed like the right way to go. She chooses to take a wild chance on this online chatting website that her best friend, Michelle told her about. There, she finds someone who is amused by her atrocious jokes that no one else seems to find funny. It’s rare to find something like that, and she decides that she doesn’t want to let him go.

Talking for more than a year by now, the two of them have never video-chatted. They have never met. They’ve been going off phone calls, and a few uploaded pictures. Parker, being the impulsive character she is, found this all to be a tad bit fishy. She decides to do something about it, with the help of her conservative best friend. Taking a road-trip from New York to Tennessee to go find him seemed like the right thing to do, but is it?
