I open my eyes and I'm blinded by a bright light. I squint and it takes a couple of minutes for my eyes to adjust to the light. I try to speak but there is something down my throat. I hear a voice say "Don't try to speak Collin you have a tube down your throat. We will notify your family that your awake". I look for the source of the voice but faces with a women dressed in a white lab coat and has this weird thing around her neck. She injects me with something and everything went black again I wake up again and the thing down my throat was gone. I try to speak but my voice was dry. "Water" I say and someone gives me a glass on water. I drink and I feel like I haven't drank water for years. "Collin are you okay" a voice say. It sound familiar but I don't member from where. Who is Collin. That's the second time I heard that. "Um who are you and who is Collin" ---------------------------------- They say you never forget your first anything. "The lights flashed in my eyes. They were too bright, my eyes went black. Then there was a deafening crash. "Rebecca!" My dad cried, then nothing. I woke up soaked in sweat. My whole body ached from memory of the nightmare. I checked the time on my phone. 4:27am Wow, it was late for me. Almost 6 hours. I groaned, rolling over and turning on the lamp. I slid on shorts over my underwear and pulled sneakers over my feet. I sighed, remembering it was cold. But I didn't care and kept going, slamming the door shut behind me. "Sweetheart wake up. You're at the hospital." I looked up and saw the same woman hovering over me. "Oh...okay." I opened my eyes fully and noticed that I was already in the hospital bed. Why on earth did she have to wake me? "So why am I here?" I asked confused. "Well," she said pulling a short and skinny woman into the room. "This very sweet lady saw you on the side of the road and called 9-1-1." I looked up at her and she threw me an evil look. In a way, she seemed strongly familiar. I looked away slowly diving my eyes back into the direction of the nurse. "Before we leave you, I just wanted to let you know that my name is Julia. You can call me whatever works best for you. Julia, Nurse, Nurse Julia. Whatever. I'll be right back with your papers." Sixteen-year-old Abigail Moore, also referred to as Ginger by her boyfriend Cameron Wood, has lived a terrible sixteen years. She grew up with her drug-addict mother who didn't care enough to properly raise her, and she's stuck living alone for a good amount of her teenage years. Once Abigail's mother got put in jail for suspected murder of Abigail's older sister, Julia, Abigail is forced to live with her aunt.
