He never expected to see her again. Let alone be so close to her. 

An ancient curse placed on him by the goddess Parvati for falling in love with her after she was already entered into a betrothal blessed by her forbade them from being together. The curse promised death to one or both of them if they remained together. She pushed him away, unwilling to be the cause of his death, especially after he had already lost the elements that made him immortal. He hadn't seen her again after that. 

That is, until he's resurrected as a Heroic Spirit Servant and recruited to fight for the Red faction during the Greater Grail War. It was there he met her reincarnation.

He never expected he would see her again, or that she would have no memory of him.

Having recently escaped from captivity from those she was once supposed to call her allies, she decides to join forces with her best friend, along with the Heroic Spirit Servant of her best friend. They form a pact, deciding to stick together and stay alive as long as possible to try and get to the grail together. 

They knew it wouldn't be easy from the moment they summoned their servants, but nothing in life ever is that easy, right?
