A war has been brewing between two factions of the Lakefront for many moons. The Western Coalition - the Roots and the Moor Cats - and the Lakeshore Alliance - Rippling Lake and Dusk Hollow - have been engaged in a conflict called the Lakefront War. The Western Coalition has devoted its resources to defending the integrity of the Forbidden Territories while the Lakeshore Alliance wishes to lay its claim on them. But everything may come to an abrupt end.
When young Roots herbalist-trainee Hollypaw discovers oddities concerning a comrade's death, questions begin to arise about who could have killed them if not anyone from the Lakeshore Alliance. Another disturbing realisation comes to the minds of the nightmare-infested Roots warrior-trainee Scorchpaw and the hardened Moor Cats warrior Sorrelsong: the Birch Federation, a strong neutral Territory known for its rigid patrol system, has been awfully quiet at its border.

The five clans lived by a lake. Until one day, they didn't. The clans have been destroyed. Rogues have claimed the land surrounding the lake as their own.
