(edit) I forgot to add that this started out as a confessional journal about becoming clean after a 10 year + addiction to OTC cold meds, but that was not my style of writing, I liked the material so I wanted to expand it into a novel length work featuring the journal elements. To say this work is a roller coaster would put it lightly. Although there are elements of time travel I would consider my sudden transitions reality travel. I use actual experience and dreams as a foundation, then toss in some fourth wall breaking narratives (meta-fiction), with a sprinkling of facts and quotations from songs and factual articles. It tends to be written similarly to an essay sans the boring. I have been influenced strongly by Vonnegut and W. S. Burroughs , and a wide variety of album rock, and that bleeds through. The tags dystopian and dark humor describe the whole piece best but there is a lot of genre jumping. I've done a good deal of research, not just for factual things but for the type of writing I do. Although not technically fan fiction, there is a nod to Final Fantasy games. The cover photo is a shared copyright, Brian Barbour took the photo, I added treatments.

Lovecraftian Horror. End of an era... is but the inception? Aug 2020. 11,000 words

This is my first story, and I need to learn how this works... so go easy on me. And I don't own any of the art or cover art used in the story. Credit goes to the artist. I'm also thinking about just rewriting the whole story in the future maybe... But idk yet. You're Y/N. You heard rumors of a island with some sort of treasure in it.. Nobody knows what exactly the treasure is... But people that have tried to figure it out have gone missing. Except for a crazy old man you saw on the streets warning everyone about the island, But you were always a curious person, and you needed that money so you can afford living in your home.. So you decide to solve the mystery yourself, but what you find was unexpected.. and disturbing... You are not the same as what you once were. I may do a rewrite for this story, because I'm embarrassed by how it turned out.

When Alistair Melek gave his life to the sea, various degrees of things changed. For starters, his love for bloodshed was amplified. Bolder. He was drawn to the clash of a sword, blood spilling below the floorboards, like a moth drawn to a flame. And this love was damned to spread through his crew as some treacherous disease, claiming any and all who joined. But he knew this was the price he'd pay. The price for the sea itself. So when his crew completes another standard loot and pillage from a merchant ship, he allows his men a bit of fun. He liked to give them an audience, rounding up those who didn't fall victim to the blade during battle, and forcing them to beg for their lives. To prove how much they really wanted to live. Alistair had ruled the sea for some years now. Killed thousands, maybe tens of thousands. Destroyed hundreds, maybe thousands of vessels. And yet, each feeble human was all the same. There was not one man he threatened that didn't beg for their lives with all they had in them when faced with the wrong end of the sword. Each feeble human was always the same. Or so he thought. And yet, he also thought that this would be a standard job. A treat for his men after a night of good work. But this particular survivor, the one with long white hair and dead-looking eyes... He wasn't a merchant. He couldn't have been. More importantly, there was no hesitancy when Alistair asked the fairly built man whether he wanted to live, and the man replied with a simple no.

Everything he did was for me. And everything I did was for him. I broke his heart. A heart I cherished. A heart he entrusted me with. A heart he loved me with. This was the last place I thought I'd see him. This was the last way I thought we'd meet again. Ever since her parents died, Rose hasn't felt quite right in her life. There are constant storms plaguing her small town, and the school bullies are making her life a living hell. When she is attacked by one boy on her way home from school, she thinks that reporting him to the police will be easy. Except, all she can do is think about the way he touched her and gazed down at her. Because he never actually hurt her. He seemed only enticed by her. His deathly pale skin, blood-red eyes and inhumanity haunted her. From then onward, she finds the boy follows her. He is everywhere she goes, and seems obsessed with her.
