Fighting the Alpha

My thoughts cut off when the burning warmth of my mate's fingers faintly glide at the side of my face, I subconsciously tilt towards him, wanting to get burnt. My eyes naturally close as I focus on the feel of our mate playing with a strand of hair, my wolf purrs audibly.

I hear him chuckle and then fall silent again, "I thought I lost you" he whispers, before I feel him inhale at the base of my neck.

"What do you mean?" I open my eyes to question him, and I'm frozen in place by violet eyes, the creator of chaos staring longingly at me; a Lycan. All the warmth seems to disappear as I realise, I'm mated to a leader of darkness, the very person responsible for the growing war that has caused the death of millions of werewolves.
