Initially, both characters use each other, their love nothing but a facade masking deeper motives. As the story unfolds, the fragile connection between them breaks, leading to an explosive confrontation. Dabi, fueled by rage and bitterness, burns off Hawks' wings during a brutal battle, leaving him helpless.
