"I was trying to stop you from making a fool of yourself," Jin admitted, his voice lower. "But you-" He ran a hand through his hair, frustration creeping into his tone. "You always have to fight back. Always have to prove something." Meher looked at him, disbelief flickering in her eyes. "You think I was trying to prove something? Do you even hear yourself? Jin, I was just trying to exist." Her voice cracked. "I was just trying to be myself." Jin clenched his jaw. Why was this so hard? "Then maybe you should stop expecting everyone to understand you," he said, his tone harsher than he intended. "Not everyone has to like you, Meher." She inhaled sharply, hurt flashing across her face before she quickly masked it. "And what about you? You made it pretty clear that you don't like me either." Jin opened his mouth, then closed it. He should just agree. Say yes and end this conversation. That was the logical thing to do. But he didn't. Because the truth was, he didn't hate her. He hated the way she made him feel. The way she forced him to see things he didn't want to acknowledge. The way she challenged him, made him question himself. The answer was on the tip of his tongue, but his pride wouldn't let him say it. So instead, he exhaled sharply and avoided the question altogether. "Get up and follow me to the car. We have to go back home." Meher let out a dry, humorless laugh, shaking her head. "See? You can't even deny it." Two strangers living their lives in two different ways and cultures, solving their lives as a puzzle with a feeling of missing something. Suddenly they come across each other bounded by fate yet divided by misunderstandings. As their hearts clash and collide, love weaves itself between resentment and longing. But when past wounds and hidden truths threaten to tear them apart, will they find their missing piece-or lose each other forever?"
