"Don't come and tell me you listen to the superstitious nonsense of an animal!", she blurted out. "You can't be that primitive! You act like he is your superior!"

Her words hit them like a thunderbolt. Above their heads the breath of the NestElder ceased a moment. She had known him for seven years! After every passage of Cantarta, he visited her. He realized that Aliena found him strange and was not at ease in his company. But that she regarded him as an animal came as a total surprise! An animal, no less! It was the greatest possible insult he had ever received! And this after seven years! How dare she!

He stood there petrified, while below him the abbot did his utter best to ease her down.

"Watch your words, Aliena," he heard the abbot say, totally unaware that his honored guest was eavesdropping. "The Dinar is our superior in all areas. They are wise and evolved in an area we Humons still have to learn a lot about. Moreover, the BigDi is the spiritual leader of his people. That means a lot. There is not a single ruler, Montar, King or Preside in this world who would not listen to his wise counsel. That is something to be respected, even by a stranger like yourself!"

The woman continued to look at him in disbelief.

"But he is not Human!", she exclaimed, as if that explained everything.

"Humon," the abbot corrected her.
