What if Anne and Gilbert didn't meet in Avonlea? What if they met in the orphanage? Gilbert is a new orphan at Saint Albans orphanage, and he is not excited about it. A couple weeks later, a not so new orphan returns to the orphanage after living in a home for a little. A red headed girl who goes by the name of Anne. Gilbert immediately notices her. What if this time, Gilbert can protect her from those bullies. What if they can help each other survive the orphanage? What happens when Gilbert gets adopted and Anne doesn't?
