A light-hearted romp involving mail-order mishaps and sea-monkeys. Originally written for a postcard contest sponsored by Geist magazine. Creative inspiration provided by a very strange postcard featuring drawings of wee humans cavorting in a large body of water. This picture took my feverish mind back to the days of comic book advertisements with their tantalizing drawings of sea monkeys.

I asked slowly, my heartbeat had almost reduced to normal again but I was feeling a strange pull towards the creature in front of me. "I am a Merman and you are my mate." His voice was deep and sounded like music the way he spoke. But mate? "Mate?" I asked hoping to find out the way in which he directed this word. "My love," he paused looking into my hazel eyes. Most of my book ideas come from an suddent surge of emotion. I need to write it out so I can get it off my chest. Or rather belly.
