I wanted to write something like Divergent (by Veronica Roth), but I also really liked the concept of the Chaos Walking trilogy (by Patrick Ness), and I strongly recommend both. In the end, I kind of smashed the two together, added a few of my own ideas, and this is what I got. Credit goes to @moxoide for coming up with the title. I'm open to any of your suggestions or any ideas you think would fit in well, so don't hesitate to express them. I hope you enjoy!

COMPLETED (EDIT: In the process of being rewritten! Some of the writing might have you cringing! New chapters will be uploaded once they're all edited and written!) Meet Olivia, she's from Amity. You may think that everyone is Amity is just the happiest people in the world, right? Well, you're wrong. Not everyone at least. When Olivia transfers to Dauntless, where her sister transferred, no one could really figure out why. But will her past from Amity follow her? Haunt her, even? What about a certain Dauntless leader that seems to like her? "Training is over for today, everyone out!" Eric roars and as I'm about to walk through the door, I hear his cold voice yet again, "Not you Via, you stay," The others flood out and I stay planted near the door, he slowly stalks towards me and I find myself walking backward until I've hit the door behind me, I slightly jump from shock and let out yet another shaky sigh, he puts both of his arms beside my head, easily towering over me. "I'm going to break you," he starts, speaking darkly as he looks directly into my eyes, "I'm not sure how, but I will, and I'm going too," "You can't break something that's already been broken by someone else," I whisper, barely audible but I know he hears it. "Who could have possibly broken you? You lived in Amity, Baby doll," he snarls, and I push him out of the way with my shoulder. I walked out of there. (As of 3/28/2019) #1 in Divergent-12.7 stories. (Best) (THIS STORY TALKS ABOUT SOME MATURE THINGS THAT MAY TRIGGER SOME PEOPLE.) I do not own Divergent, I do not own the original Divergent characters, but I do own my characters. The first you should know is that this is a VERY short version of Divergent; and it's been called the "best parody on here" by several different users. Don't believe me? I shall prove it. ************************ In Trisha Pretor's dystopian Toronto, society is divided into two ranks, both dedicated to a particular virtue— the Clean, who value appearance and wealth, and are judged harshly; and the Unclean, who are more casual and have a lower expectation, and live in poverty. Once they've matured, and have black eyes, teens are required to enter a virtual reality to determine which rank they are better suited for. Trisha discovers that she is Detergent, having an equal aptitude for each rank, while most people can only endure one. The next day they choose which rank they will devote the rest of lives to. Trisha must decide whether she wants to stay dark, dreary world of the Unclean, (with her family, while denying her true self) or if she wants to embrace who she is at heart. Training is highly competitive, and causes stress for all of the Trainers. Trisha adopts a new name for herself,“Bee”. She tries to discover the truth of who her friends are, who she really is, and how she where a secret, forbidden romance with a sometimes amazing, sometimes infuriating boy fits into the life she's chosen for herself. She’s got a deep secret, and she’s heard that it may be her downfall. Bee discovers that tensions between parts of the city are increasing, and they threaten to unravel her society–not just one of the ranks. She finds that her closely guarded secret could either save her life, and that of those she cares about— or destroy her.

Ordinary Acts of Bravery [A Divergent Fanfic]

89 parts Complete Mature

Octavia transfers to Dauntless and immediately draws the attention of the last man she should ever want: Eric Coulter. He looks at her-and sees a ghost. Someone he lost. Someone he failed. What begins as hostility sharpens into obsession, then into something far more dangerous as initiation brutalizes them both and the city edges toward war. The longer he watches her, the clearer it becomes- She isn't the ghost. And he is not the man he was before it. She came to Dauntless to find where she belongs. Instead, she finds him-and a love built in the space between violence, grief, and everything neither of them knows how to name. It is not safe. It is not easy. It is tested-by fear, by secrets, by choices neither of them can take back. By the truth that loving each other may be the most dangerous thing either of them does. When the city fractures, they are pulled apart-by duty, by survival, by the decisions meant to protect each other. Octavia rises. Eric breaks. And as the world collapses, they are left standing in the wreckage- still choosing each other anyway.
