"No. Don't do this." A step back sounded against the paved floor beneath them, a rouge sound against the roaring crackle of the fire. "I'm sorry." They murmured, giving a smile. The other looking conflicted, fear, anger, and hate on their face. "*****. DON'T DO THIS." They screeched, the other flinching, giving a small hurt look but the expression vanished within seconds as they flashed a smile and dashed into the flaming building, not looking back. "*********! YOU LITTLE SHIT!" They screamed louder, heartbreak and desperation for them to come back in their voice as they yelled after the person who had run away towards the flaming building, tears now streaming down both's faces. "*****! We need to leave right now!" A new person shouted, standing behind them with 5 others behind them. "No! We can't leave him!" They whipped around, standing and facing them. "Please *****! Think about ****** and ****!" The figure looked incredibly conflicted, glancing between the flaming building and the person trying to convince him to leave right now. Between his mate, his lover, his life, and his best friends on which he wouldn't ask for anyone else. "I'm sorry ***. Take everyone and leave!" Shock took most faces, the figure at the head of the group took a few steps forward and reached out, but it was too late. "*****!" One tried to lunge forward and grab *****'s arm before they bolted but it was too late. They were already engulfed by flames following after their lover. "*****!" ****** screeched after them, being held back by 2 others before he could also pursue. The group could only watch in horror as their two friends were now trapped in the building
as a part of it collapsed
and blocked the only escape out.

Favourite paragraph so far: He would only survive if he kept the fire going and he could hear thunder in the distance. The two factors that guaranteed him his health. The only two people he could trust to be around and not get sick from to the point it would kill him were Error and Fresh. The only two skeletons he'd been with since he was a kid. It seemed like such a long time ago when he was last ten years old, running about on this very hill, playfighting with his brothers under the old trees where there was nothing wrong with him and not a thing to worry about. Geno missed the days of being a carefree child with only play on his mind. Yet times had changed, his family had grown up and they kind of just... drifted apart. A memory can make or ruin a person's day if they let it get to them. Geno didn't believe it could do both at once until it did exactly that. It made him feel a panging loss in his heart, like being able to run around, having lots of energy and time to spare had left him completely. At the same time, however, he felt satisfied having had those memories back. Alike to getting your hands on something you really didn't know you needed till now. Everything was running smoothly for the Star Sanses on this amazing day. Ink was drawing happily, Blue was running around chasing butterflies, and Dream was reading! Until we look a little... deeper. Dream was fine. But Ink was thinking about things much darker than his smile gave off. Blue, on the other hand, was thinking all happy thoughts! To an outsider. To anyone else, he would never have depression. To others, he was a cute little innocent boy. But only he knew the truth. Dream was the happiest out of the bunch. Not really surprised, are you? Let's check in on the 'villains' as you may call them. Dust and Cross were running from Killer, who was tightening his strings on his hoodie, NIghtmare was reading just like Dream, skimming over the page, Horror was playing with his ax, and Error was knitting. Or the way Nightmare never turns a page in his book? Geno was running away from Reaper at that moment, who was laughing.
