A young women, Kikyou, lives a happy normal life. Her life is bright, she has a spiritual snake/dragon. But one morning, she woke up to only her brother with her. No one else was in her house, or in her entire town. Kikyou and he brother Hiroku, both travelled the world to see if anyone else was there.
There was no humans, only demons. They had to kill some in order to live, even though they were also demons. They run into another group of two, whom were also travelling. The girl, Akemi, and her cousin, Naraku, had the same back story. The 4 travelled together, trying to find out what happened to everyone. They soon run into an army of men, questioning why there are still there. The group of men try to kill them, so they had no choice but to run and hide from danger.
