Ironwood has been experimenting with Argent energy. With the backing of the council and Ozpin they were able to harness this energy as an alternate away from dust as it was far more powerful. However, harnessing this energy comes with a price. Portals of Hell open all across Vale which was the epicenter of the Argent harnessing facilities. Demons pour out onto the streets as the entire planet soon becomes consumed by evil. Meanwhile a man in a floating fortress, just in orbit of Remnant, awakens from his long slumber.
