The Vastlands; a large independent country in ancient medieval times that is divided into five different nations, is a land that last experienced earth-shattering war at its inception. With the Sterling-Salarian king, King Aramos at the helm of leadership in the Upper Northlands, an unspoken treaty of peace exists between the five races. At a time when he is preparing his only son to receive the mantle of leadership, ancient foes rise from the woodworks to claim their stakes in the kingdom. Their brothers and sisters, the aptly named Lawless -Salarians, who had been cast in the desert land to live like the barbarians they had once proven themselves to be. Their request was simple, but with time it became clear that it would demand a heavy price not just from the Sterlings in the Northlands, but the other races from the Southlands and Eastlands.

Aramos is at odds as he comes to terms with the realization that any decision he makes will deny him peace or happiness. Many questions keep gnawing at his brain;
Why now? Why during his reign? His son driven by compassion finds himself at loggerheads with his father- who has tasted war and garnered losses at the hand of the lawless. There is division in the Sterling camp as some share Amos's compassionate stance, while others regard him with folly. As for Aramos, at the core, he is a father who wishes to protect his family. Dealing with Amos's views regarding the Lawless while trying to ignore the reality of the fate that awaits his beloved daughter, Samar. The reality is, the Crest beckons her. The Crest, a blue mystic and magical flame that came straight from the Creator's heart was given to their forefather as a sign of his approval and love. The crest could read the heart, and as it stood, it was drawn to Samar's. A crushed Aramos knew this meant that he could not protect her forever. She was not her own. And, he feared, she was crazy enough to comply.

Book 1, The Field Rat's Banquet - Complete Book 2, The Raven's Laughter Part 1: To Bet on Losing Dogs - Complete Book 3, The Raven's Laughter Part 2: High Flies the Kestrel - Ongoing The Field Rat's Banquet: On the western shores of Kliskorios, a King sits without an heir. With his three children unwilling to allow each other to sit upon the throne, and a realm unable to decide the legal successor, the Kingdom of Teleytaios, strongest of the Heptarchy, stands on the brink of civil war, vultures circling all the while. King Cordan's bastard son has proven himself in battle and rulership both in the last half a decade, though the coming challenges will put to test even the greatest of his efforts. After all, to kill an enemy is one thing, but what about his own siblings? There is no man as accursed as the kinslayer, so the saying goes. The royal daughter, ever a staunch traditionalist and dangerous opponent, stacks the cards and the court in her favour whilst her brothers, bastard and trueborn both, waste away far from the capital. With the masses of dispossessed lords and ladies of the kingdom at her beck and call, there are few who find themselves outside of her reach. The King's trueborn son, widely regarded as being mad and violent, will act as the wildcard in the coming feud. Whoever he chooses to support will surely triumph, though perhaps there is more to the youngest prince than meets the eye? But there is more to the rising tensions than a simple succession crisis. Ancient things are waking up the world over; Brythonic sailors let slip the things they have glimpsed in the Ouroborisian Sea in Anarian taverns, and the whispers of gutter rats and holy men alike tell of a cult long thought dead hiding in plain sight. And then there are the findings of the King's own bastard son in the northern reaches of the kingdom. When these threads coincide, fate may find itself rewritten by mortal hands for the first time since time immemorial.

She was ultimately defeated, but the marks of her terrible influence still remain in the memories and on the bodies of her victims. Wynter, Heir to the Winter Court, bears many of those marks. Elodie Rohese has carried a fondness towards Wynter since she first met him, just before he was kidnapped by Melantha. She refuses to leave him alone in his isolation, and instead, visits his home frequently, even though he never admits her. Despite her uncle's wrath and prejudices, Elodie continues to reach out to Wynter. ❅| "Even a vastness can no longer shelter you... or engulf your dream." ⊱⋅ ──────────── ⋅⊰ [UNDER EDITING/REDRAFTING - latest chapter: 9] To a world seemingly shrouded in a cloak of safety and eternal peace, death is an unimaginable concept. Yet for those whose rule of life was mere survival, perhaps that's a different situation. For those who stood in the face of adversity, for those who refused to give in to the castigation of their lives, life has no sweetness to it. Merely the bitter tang of a blood-chilling revenge. To avenge a loved one or perhaps even their own pain, the murderous intent behind their deceitful eyes is unmistakable. For to them, lamenting about the past is a life lost to the cruel hands of fate. What happens when a woman as brilliant as the morning sun provides a haven in one's dreams? What happens when she, despite the agonies life carried, says to abandon everything right here and now and leave? Alcestis did not need to be told twice. Seizing the chance to escape the horrible clutches of her grandparents, she sets out on a journey to find the Elementals - a band of heroes protecting the human realm from those that lied beyond, headed by her parents. She knew of the darkness that festered within her; she knew of the hatred that danced in her heart. More than anything, she knew the extents of how fragmented her soul was. What, perhaps, would unfold when she sets out on her journey, leaving behind the world she knew; leaving behind what hopefulness remained in her battered heart? None would heed her an answer, indeed. None save for the rage that tainted her being.

What would you do if you were suddenly thrown powers befitting a God more than any mortal? Would you use them to better yourself, your community and society? Or would you wreak havoc upon our world? Or would you instead look far beyond our reality and breakthrough the construction for something brand new? A new world, all to yourself that too. That's what happened, and it was in the drizzle whilst feeding the pest that had wrecked havoc upon his humble backyard shack that he found a mystery larger than anyone can comprehend, an artifact immune to the irreversible corrosion of time, quite ironic that an unbreakable artifact fell upon his hands by accident, a man two steps away from death itself. Miguel didn't know at that time about how much of an effect the scroll would have upon his life, but whatever happens; he's now sure it'll be a merry one, either in this world, or the other one. Meanwhile in the world he had created, soft, peaceful and lush forests cover most areas of the continent with a very sparse population density, however Reggasia is anything but peaceful; and sparse. Reggasia is almost like another country to the rest of the people in the old kingdom, because it is; despite being the new capital district of culture it is now bleeding like a stuck pig, it's people starving and the wars the noblesse classes are waging aren't making anything better. As such, a greed driven young rogue takes things into his own hands and goes onto a journey that will take him across the entire district when his country and people are in danger, but will he be able to stop the conspiring nobles from taking over the entire continent? Or will his heart be pierced by the very same blade he gave unto this world seventeen hundred years ago? [#7 World Building.]
