This was the very first book that I wrote back in 2015. It has not been formatted or edited by anyone. I wrote this book as the first book in the Hawkins series with two more to follow soon.
The book cover is very special to me because it's a photo of my mother and father when they were teenagers. My father was diagnosed with cancer while I was in the middle of finishing this book, so I had to put it down. He lost his battle with cancer in 2017 a few days after Christmas and it's taken me until now with everything going on in the world today to actually want to get it out there. My father was my biggest fan which I appreciate him for always giving me input or just by asking me how my book was going.
So, here it is!!! Thank you to everyone that has been asking me about my first book I hope you enjoy the read as much as I have enjoyed bringing it to life.
Beau Hawkins is a strong, hard but fair lawman from out West who came to Gum Creek to help settle the town along-side Abel Thomas. Together they make the laws and see they're carried out. Beau has a reputation of always getting his man or woman in Emma's case. Beau is a take charge kind of man that doesn't do love and romance, though a good roll in the hay now and then has always been enough. He is now finding out that the love of a good woman is everything to him and keeping her safe is his main concern, when danger comes for her in the form of a census man named Nathan Berg.

I'm a 17 year old girl who has suffered more than any other, beginning to believe that 'Hope' was just another word the people throw around. Until I fell in love with a badboy. Jacob's anger, yelling and all the abuse. Saying he's sorry over and over and that it won't happen again, but it's the same thing over and over. He would say anything to make me stay.
