In the twilight months of 1831, sixteen year-old Eli Smith finds himself on hard times after the death of his father leaves him as the man of the house, and provider for him and his mother. When an eccentric Englishman finds him on the side of the road, and offers him a seemingly simple and extraordinarily well paid job as a delivery driver, Eli thinks he's found a heaven sent angel. But by the end of his first day of work, Eli finds himself roped into the maybe illegal and definitely nauseating underbelly of scientific discovery, and a Irishman's search for a cure for cancer.
