When he kicked me for the third time, I threw my arm down to block the blow and instantly regretted it when I heard a crack.  "Now, listen carefully Addison because I will not repeat myself."  He grabbed me by hair with one hand and my throat with the other.  "  You will get dressed and you will come downstairs.  If I have to come get you, I won't stop at three...do you understand?" he asked as he tightened the grip on my throat.

I nodded quickly.  Instead of letting go, he gripped harder.  I clawed at his hand knowing that if he didn't let go soon, I'd pass out.  Just as I started to feel myself drift away, the sound of a doorbell rang through the house.
