"Wrong answer, Addison."  He stormed past me, dragging me by my arm.  "You are going to learn to obey me!" he spat as he dragged past my mother and upstairs the stairs.

"Mom!  Mom!  Don't let him do this!  Mom, help me!" I screamed as he tossed me in my room.  He slammed the door behind him and took a menacing step towards me as I scrambled to the far corner of the room.  "Please, I'm sorry..."

He chuckled as he took another step.  "Sorry doesn't teach you my rules."  He took another step and laughed as he saw me looking at the door.  "She's not coming for you," he said as he kicked me in my rib cage.  "I really didn't want to have to do this to you," he said as he kicked me again.  When he kicked me for the third time, I threw my arm down to block the blow and instantly regretted it when I heard a crack.  "Now, listen carefully Addison because I will not repeat myself."  He grabbed me by hair with one hand and my throat with the other.  "  You will get dressed and you will come downstairs.  If I have to come get you, I won't stop at three...do you understand?" he asked as he tightened the grip on my throat.

I nodded quickly.  Instead of letting go, he gripped harder.  I clawed at his hand knowing that if he didn't let go soon, I'd pass out.  Just as I started to feel myself drift away, the sound of a doorbell rang through the house.

"Saved by the bell," he laughed as he let go.  "Hurry up," was all he said before he walked out of the room leaving me gasping for air.All Rights Reserved
