This is a one-shot of how I think Ash-Greninja should have come back into the Sun and Moon anime.
In this one-shot, Ash has won the Kalos League but has not challenged Diantha to the title as he wanted to travel and meet new Pokemon. 
The Alolan Gang does not know about Ash previous travels and accomplishments though.
