Into the Shadows

"I said come with me. I know I'm a stranger but if I'm being completely honest here.. I just can't seem to bring my self to leave you." She couldn't believe her ears. Enthusiasm pumped in her heart while dread swirled in her head. To leave with him would be beyond reckless and stupid. She could get herself killed for all she knew. She steeled herself against him. He was a bad idea and she knew it.

She could see it in his daunting eyes and confident stance. She couldn't go with him. She looked into his eyes again, surely ready to say no when she saw it. Behind the mystery and micheviousness held fear and sheepishness. She saw the nervousness that he was trying to hide. Suddenly he became human to her and without meaning to, she let her steel barrier slip.

She was the one praying for something new. She in fact prayed for it on this very night. Here it was. Her something new. Here he was. She knew he would flip her world upside down but she was all right with that. Her life needed a little shaking up.

"Let's go." She said while slipping her hand into his. The action took so much courage she wasn't sure how she had managed it. He looked down at their hands and gave her a toothy grin. The two stole away into the night, no one but them knowing they were gone.

Her life was normal until she met him. His life has always been a frustrated catastrophe. Together can they fight the battles they tried for so long to fight alone? What will happen to two stupid kids from two very different worlds fall in love?
