"Kaia, long time no see." He started to make his way towards me, arms open as if he wanted a hug. I instinctively held the water out in between us, trying to keep him away. Even though I was drunk, I knew giving Simon a hug would lead to many emotions I didn't want to feel, especially for him. "Yeah... Well, I better be getting back to my friends. Thank you for the water." I said the words to the mystery guy next to me, but I remained focused on Archie's red hair in the crowd. I took a step towards the crowd when a hand wrapped around the crease of my elbow. I turned, seeing Simon hold my arm. "Please, let go." "No, I want to talk to you." "Well I have nothing to say, please let go of my arm." A hand appeared on Simon's shoulder, and a figure took a step in between us. "Hey man, she asked you to let go of her." I looked at this man, who by the voice I knew he was the water bottle man. Now my eyes were able to focus on him, and my eyes widened. He was beautiful. His almond shaped eyes were slightly overshadowed by his thick eyebrows. His black hair curving down his head, peaking out just a little below his ears. And he was tall. Damn was he tall. Simon looked over at the water bottle man, seemingly sizing him up before letting go of my arm and walking away. I sighed and turned to this man, smiling. "Thank you. For that, and for this bottle." I looked in his eyes, his milk chocolate eyes. They were like the chocolate river in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Idk maybe I'm hungry. Or drunk. Or both. "You're welcome." He smiled down at me, his smile never quite reaching his eyes. "I swear he's not normally like that, he's just drunk." "Not everyone here is who they pretend to be." ------- Started 6/14/20

Serena

It's 1737 when Serena arrives at Adela's Academy and she won't be allowed to leave for twenty years. Read about the chapter in her life that changed her forever. "Serena." I stopped swimming. "Serena." I looked down into the water and my heart leapt with joy at the sight of my beloved, one true love Kai. It was him, down to his deep brown eyes and wavy hair floating about his head. "Kai." Bubbles escaped my mouth as I reached out to him. My hand moved past his and his image faded away. "No!" I screamed at the water. My throat constricted as I realised i had let out all the air in my lungs. I sucked in and water painfully filled my lungs. I panicked. My arms failed and my black skirt lifted in the water so it blotted out all the light. I was going to die, and nobody would care. Fair is foul, and foul is fair. The witch's quote emerged from the recesses of my fading min. My limbs went numb. Everything is reversed, fair is foul, and foul is f-the darkness curled its black fist around the end of the noose looping my neck...and pulled.
