"...once I laid my eyes on you, I wouldn't be able to take them off..."

Y/n is a free-spirited, strong minded photographer and writer who is always traveling from city to city. When she isn't on the go she is in her brightly lit apartment in the center of Atlanta's bustling art scene. She spends most of her time working and building her career making connections and grabbing opportunities at ever chance she gets. While doing so she maintains a healthy social life and enjoys hanging out with friends from time to time.

From the outside looking in her life is picture perfect, but things aren't always as they appear. Things in her life may not work out as planned but with her emotional support dog Cheerio, who helps her with her severe anxiety and depression by her side, life is a little more manageable.

One day while in New York y/n visits her favorite coffee shop that she goes to everytime she visits the city, when a particular blue-eyed boy catches her attention.

A reflection. Do you like yours, love yours or hate yours? There's many people in this world who dislike theirs, not because of the physicality that they see in a mirror, but because they know what's lurking behind the eyes that stare. So much can be seen in yourself from your own pair of eyes, things that others don't seem to see. Do you know why that is? That's because no one knows you better than you know yourself. A pair of eyes could seem so kind, warm and innocent to the world, but only yourself could know the true darkness behind them. There's one person in this world who knows exactly what I'm talking about. He knows the infuriating, angering feeling of the painful suffering he experiences when his own eyes meet his reflection's. Deadly, severe, menacing: is what he sees. Everyone who looks into them simply see a bright pair of ocean eyes. Blue. That's all they see. But only himself knows he's drowning in the tidal waves of their deep ocean. And no one cares enough to notice, to help, or to save. Until her. She used to think fire was more murderous than ice. Little did she know, that would all change at first glance. She saw the eyes, she noticed their blue, she stared for a second too long, and now she knows that there's no going back. He'll claim her. ~If I take a step away from him, he takes a step closer to me. If I run, he'll find his way back.~ ~I'm trying my goddamned hardest to not act on the ache I'm feeling to place my lips on hers, just to have a little taste, because I don't want to appear as some sex-driven teenage boy who just wants to claim her body. Because I don't. I want to claim her heart.~ *Mature content: Strong language, aggressive behaviour, sexual content etc.* Note: Don't skip past the prologue. A bit of the dialogue or description in the first half of the book may seem slightly immature; I'll have to edit that when I get the chance. Started: 31/08/18 Completed: 02/04/19
