I bite my lip as I hold the letter in my hands. It came in the mail earlier today, in a crisp white envelope, with my address written in her horrible handwriting. When I looked at it for the first time, and I processed everything, and the envelope felt heavy in my hands, the first thing I said was, "Oh, shit."
It had been two years. Two long years of passing each other by the hallways at school. Two years of enduring the knowing looks and nervous glares. Two years of tolerating each other when we were in the same groups. Two years of not speaking civilly, just throwing insults to each other. Basically silence. Until now.
